About

The Story of the Shipwrecked Sailor is one I decided to read because I'd seen some excerpts of it when I was first learning Hieroglyphic. It sounded like a funky story with some monkeys and giant snakes, and hopefully it wouldn't be cripplingly difficult to read.

I had a little trouble finding the text, seeing as I couldn't locate any books with it, and the MdC version I found on the Intarwebs was pretty abominable. There were dozens of mistyped glyphs, incorrect line divisions, some of the red sections weren't colourised... and when you have a text with such glaring mistakes, what guarantee do you have of its accuracy? Thankfully there's a website that has the Hieratic and a Hieroglyphic transliteration, so I had something more definite to check the file against. The version given on this page has all the proper corrections, so hopefully some other hobbyists will find it useful.
